Privacy Policy

Riff Roulette is a guitar practice app. This policy explains what information the app handles, why it is handled, and the choices you have. Riff Roulette is designed to be usable without an account: the app works with an anonymous account, and you are never required to create a profile with personal details.

Riff Roulette records guitar riffs. Recording requires microphone access, which the app only requests when you choose to record a riff. Audio is captured only while you are actively recording a take. If you deny microphone permission, the rest of the app — challenges, timers, the Daily Riff — still works.

When you save a riff, the recording is uploaded to your private Vault so you can keep and replay it across sessions and devices. Vault storage is private to your account: saved riffs are not published, shared, or visible to other users. Sharing or exporting a riff happens only when you choose to share it — the app never shares your audio on your behalf.

You can delete individual riffs from the Vault at any time, and deleting removes the recording from our storage.

Riff Roulette uses Supabase for authentication, app data and audio storage. When you first use the app, an anonymous account is created so your progress, streaks and Vault can be tied to your session without any personal information. Your recordings and account data are stored on Supabase's infrastructure with row-level security so only your account can read your data.

Riff Roulette Pro subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store and managed by RevenueCat, which handles subscription status, purchases and entitlement verification. RevenueCat receives an identifier that links your purchase to your app account so your Pro status can be verified on any device. Billing itself is handled by Apple; we do not receive or store your payment card details.

Riff Roulette uses Airbridge to measure app usage, marketing attribution and paid advertising performance. Airbridge receives analytics events about how the app is used — for example app opens, riff spins, recordings, saves, shares, paywall views and subscription events — along with device and attribution identifiers.

We do not send Airbridge the content of your riffs, your recordings, riff names you enter, or other personal content you create. Events carry only neutral, categorical information such as which plan or vibe was selected and which screen was viewed.

The free version of Riff Roulette shows ads served through Google AdMob. Pro subscribers never see ads. When ads are shown, Google may collect device and usage information under Google's own privacy policy. Where required, Google's consent form is shown before ads are requested, and you can revisit your advertising privacy choices from the app.

Riff Roulette does not sell your personal information.

On iPhone, if you allow App Tracking Transparency, the app may access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) so advertising and attribution partners can measure which campaigns brought you to the app. If you decline, ads still work; they are simply less personalised.

The app may also use device identifiers such as the IDFV (identifier for vendors) for attribution and subscription verification. The app's tracking prompt appears only once, after you have saved your first riffs, and you can change your choice later in iOS Settings.

Riff Roulette is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

You can delete individual riffs from the Vault at any time from inside the app. You can delete your account and its stored data from the Vault screen, which removes your profile, saved riffs and account-linked data. You can manage App Tracking permission and ad personalisation in iOS Settings, and subscription settings in your Apple account.
